What kind of computer do I need to play Gimme Golf (system requirements)?
- Internet Explorer 6+ or Firefox 2+ with cookies and JavaScript enabled
- Windows 2000, XP, or Vista (to play the game)
- Java 1.5 or later (1.6 update 5 or later on Vista)
- The game is currently unable to run on Macs... Sorry.
How do I install/launch the game?
- Once you've created an account and logged in, your browser will automatically ask if you'd like to download the game (be sure to say yes).
How do I hit the ball?!
- To swing the club, just click and hold on the swing button in the lower, center of your screen.
- Drag your mouse back (down) to increase your power.
- Release and click one last time to hit the ball.
- Your accuracy (hook/slice) will be determined by how far you clicked to the left or right of the center line.
How do I aim?
- Click and drag anywhere on the screen to rotate your golfer or use the arrow keys on your keyboard
- Use the mini-map on the right hand side of the screen to see where you are (colored marker), and where your shot is estimated to land (circular indicator)
- Click and drag anywhere on the mini-map to explore other parts of the course
How do I find my friends?
- You can search for your friends using their nickname, real name, or email address.
- For example, in the Community screen, select "Real Name" from the drop-down menu, type your friend's name, and click the Find button.
- Once you find the person you're looking for, you can add them to your buddy list to see when they're online and then click on their name to open up a dialog box to chat.
How can I play against others?
- Go to the Play screen and click the Free Game (2-4 Players) icon.
- Look through the list of existing games in the Join / Create Lobby screen.
- If there aren't any openings or you'd like to start your own game, create a new lobby for 2-4 players, and wait for others to join.
How can I see scores after I've left the game?
- To see the results of a specific multi-player game, go to the History tab, find a game in the History of Multi-Player Games list, and click its Scorecard button.
- To see your overall personal scores, click the magnifying glass next to your name in the bottom-left corner.
- To see the overall profile of another player, click the magnifying glass next to his or her name.
