Solo grew up in an upper-middle class, suburban neighborhood. He’s sort of resented that all his life. It’s made him one of those steady, go-to guys who feels responsible to work hard, and get things done the right way. He'll always lend an ear or extra set of hands when a friend wants to moan about a recent break-up or needs help moving furniture.
Being normal doesn’t exactly help Solo stand out the way he’d like; however, the upside of being so even-keeled is that he’s everyone’s friend. He’s the perfect wing man for his guy friends, and the perfect sounding board/shopping companion for his girl friends, even though few seem to want to be his “girlfriend.” Instead they always choose to set him up on blind dates with their friends.
Solo’s golf game is pretty good. He will spend 45 minutes before each round working on his short game: 15 minutes with the sand wedge from the trap, 15 minutes chipping from the rough and 15 minutes on the green. Solo looks at golf less as a social game and more as a test of physical and mental skill.
