Jarvis grew up in the 60’s promoting the hippie experience of free love, communal living and growing your own. He was anti-government, anti-war and anti-underwear. Never being very religious, Jarvis found his religion through weight-training and began to treat his body like a temple.
Although he grew up playing sports, Jarvis was never very athletic, thus relying on his brute strength to get him through sports like football and rugby. It was ironic that Jarvis became involved in golf, a game that requires coordination and finesse – not exactly his strong points.
The little white ball quickly became a symbol of a world to master for Jarvis. He began taking golf lessons to try and master his swing, but no matter how much he was coached to relax and hold the club like a tube of toothpaste, he would try to kill the ball. Slices into the woods would anger him beyond words.
At 5’8”, Jarvis has a bit of a Napoleon complex. Although not as skilled as some of the other golfers on the course, he more than holds his own through raw power and determination.
